Overview
The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounts of the organization. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives. The Accounts Manager plays a critical role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, working closely with other departments to ensure financial efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance financial control and compliance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and projections.
- Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP or IFRS.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and any discrepancies are resolved.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment within the finance department.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
- Provide financial insights and support for strategic initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management, typically 5+ years, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
